How do I Become a Member of FBC?

We have people from all kinds of church backgrounds who have become members of First Baptist. Because of the wide variety in people's church backgrounds, we encourage folks interested in becoming members to attend CLASS 101. Offered several times a year, this introduction to our church covers what we believe, our mission and purpose, some of our practices, and what we expect from members. This seminar is 3 or 4 hours long, and is taught by the church staff. You can ask any question you want to, and you'll also get to know others who are interested in joining the church. At the end of the class, you're given the opportunity to apply for church membership if you'd like to.

Basic membership qualifications:

  • If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and are committed to following Him
  • If you have been (or are ready to be) baptized by immersion as a testimony to your faith,
  • If you affirm the doctrine and mission of our church, and
  • If you are willing to serve in one of our ministries, and will support our church and its leaders,

... then we would be happy to receive you as a member at FBC Columbia.

If you'd like to talk with us in more detail about membership, give us a call! (618) 281-5605
