Changing the World for Christ

...make disciples of all nations...you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth…

How much of a difference can a week make? More than you think! We partner with several organizations to take the Gospel to the ends of the Earth. Together, we are making a lasting impact in the communities we serve.

In Acts 1, Jesus tells the disciples they will receive power from the Holy Spirit, and they will be His witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the Earth. We believe the same is true today. We are not just called to reach our neighbors, our city, and our state. We are called to reach the entire world.

At First Baptist Church Columbia, our desire is to obey Jesus and make disciples from Columbia, Illinois to the ends of the earth.  We know that our Lord Jesus is worthy of worship by all peoples, and we want to see him receive the worship that is rightly due him from all peoples.  The application of this active obedience unfolds in many different contexts, but the goal of FBCC missions is to make disciples of all nations.  This goal is a responsibility for all followers of Jesus Christ.

Our missions partnerships vary based upon how the Lord is working among the people of FBCC.  We support our members’ efforts in obedient gospel missions as the Lord leads.  Some of our members serve weekly in Columbia or the St. Louis metro area, and others are serving full time overseas.  All FBCC missions efforts are focused on making disciples who make disciples who worship Jesus Christ!
