We believe God desires all believers to grow to maturity in their faith. There are four environments for growing to maturity here at FBC Columbia.

The first environment is the heart of our church: Small Groups.  Here you study the Bible weekly with other friends, you love another serve together, and reach out and invite new people so that others may come to faith and new small groups may be started. Click here for more information on small groups.

Second, we offer periodic Growth Classes three times a year.  These are short (usually 6-8 week) classes on a single topic designed to give you a focused growth experience over a short period of time.

Third, we believe in Mentoring, where one seasoned Christian invests in 1-3 others at a time, passing the faith along organically, as was modeled by the early church. Advanced mentoring is available through our Multiplying Churches Center for those who feel drawn to kingdom work in missions, church planting, vocational ministry or active lay ministry.

Fourth, we encourage people to become self-feeders who take responsibility for growing on their own.  To help, our staff selects high quality books and other resources for Guided Personal Study, and we make them available at the Welcome Center.

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7.
